Nice to meet you!  I'm Maria Ristau, & I am glad you're here.  I would love to help shape the house you're dreaming up.  My specialty is kitchen and bath design and I assist throughout the home — custom tailoring spaces for a functional and beautiful outcome. Additionally, I provide whole-house design for new construction from the inside out (structural drawings are referred out). While I think it is impossible to avoid bringing bias to a project (love for abundant light, natural materials, and principals of balance & proportion being mine) my goal is to look at your project via your direction on tastes & goals.

My services for your remodel or new residence are in the capacity of as much or as little assistance as you'd like — whether we meet once to share ideas or partner through the full process with detailed floor plans, cabinet layouts & and selections for finishes + fixtures along with site visits throughout the construction process.

Education //  Bachelor of Science in Interior Design & Housing Studies:  Oregon State University, 2005.  Summa Cum Laude.

About me - Helping shape your home is my passion, and I do other things too: Sailing is a summer hobby on local lakes & a vehicle for exploring the Caribbean (an ongoing project is a Coronado 35 sailboat, you can find the adventures so far on my personal instagram @mariaristau). I love dancing West Coast Swing (coincidentally I met my husband Jud at a dance class!) and have partnered with “local stars” for the Sparrow Clubs “Dancing with the Rogue Valley Stars” fundraiser as well as instructed at the Evergreen Ballroom.  Tropical plants continually accumulate in my house-- I even harvested a homegrown pineapple here in Oregon!  Fresh fruit is my favorite food. The warm light just before sunset is divine. Learning new things, chasing goals, sharing experiences with friends & family and traveling are four things I am always trying to do. I have never met a beach or a pizza I didn't like!
